Water is free but safe drinking water is not free. SOME FOUNDATION with the help of donors and partners seeks to make safe drinking water and quality toilet facilities accessible to vulnerable families as well as in public places.
Motherless babies and Orphanage Homes, Destitute homes, Schools of the deaf, mute and blind and other institutions are now more than ever before finding it increasingly difficult to cater for the children as a result of our fragile economy. SOME FOUNDATION is assisting these institutions by providing food items, beverages, clothing, drugs and toiletries every month so as to make them resilience to the changing times.
Distinguished Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu is a Nigerian politician who represented Imo East constituency of Imo State in the 8th Assembly Senate of Nigeria.
Samdaddy as his fondly called is a graduate of Political Science and has being in the Nigeria’s political lime light for a long time! He was the Secretary Imo State Youth Organization (IYO) in 1983 as well as a political leader in the Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN) and later political leader in the UNCP. In 2003, he was appointed the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Council, and then Secretary of the Imo State chapter of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) from 2003 to 2004.
In 2004, Sen. Sam was elected the Executive Chairman of Ikeduru LGA while in 2007. He contested for the representation of his constituency at the State House of Assembly and was elected successfully on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He was successfully re-elected in 2011 for a second tenure in the State House of Assembly.
In 2015, he was elected as a senator to represent Imo East Senatorial District at the National Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He declared to run for Governor in the 2019 elections but did not win.
He is a member of the People's Democratic Party. He is also a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International as well as a Word Peace Ambassador of the International Association of World Peace Advocates and Human Rights Activist.
Duru Nicodemus started his volunteering/ humanitarian career back at his university days with Society of St. Vincent De Paul, St. Joseph Conference, Nsukka, (a charity organization under the Catholic Church) where he was elected as secretary of the organization. He later emerged the secretary of St. Vincent De Paul, Sacred Heart Conference, Akwakuma after his university days, and later was elected as its President. He was later elected as the 5th President of Society of St. Vincent De Paul Owerri Central Council (SSVPOCC) in 2012 covering all of the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri during which he led the organization in its humanitarian services for 6 years with tremendous achievement.
During his stint with SSVPOCC, he came across So Others May Eat Foundation (SOME) and Disable Citizens of Nigeria Skill Acquisition Center in 2017 and 2019 respectively and was appointed its Project Manager respectively. In January 2020, the Board of Trustees appointed him the Director General of SOME FOUNDATION.
He works full time with Imo State Local Government Service Commission as an Assistant Chief Agricultural Officer. He is a graduate of Botany from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He also has certificate of achievement from Philanthropy University in Fundamentals of project Management, Fundraising for NGOs and Advocacy. He is a member of Amnesty International, SuSanA, Botanical Society of Nigeria, Agricultural Society of Nigeria and University of Nigeria Alumni Association. He is married with kids.
Stanislaus Njoku holds a B.Sc in Economics and is currently an employee of Imo State Local Government Service Commission. He has a vast wealth of expertise in accounts production and balancing. As an Economist, he strives to initiate theories and innovations that will be resourceful to any organization he finds himself which are geared towards uplifting such institution into top recognition both locally and internationally. His watch words are to be transparent and accountable at all times.
He has a lot of empathy at the sight of the indigent poor, and his passion to always strive to provide them comfort has driven him to volunteer in many charities amongst which is SOME FOUNDATION.
Amber believes in elevating the voices of those she serves. With her unique expertise in building authentic relationships, front line knowledge of the needs of children at a variety of life stages, and passion for a holistic approach to building stable families. Amber is elated to be a part of the SOME Foundation, and to have the privilege to develop a strong connection between the families we serve and the rest of the world.
Assumpta Okorie holds a B.Sc honors in journalism; B.A in English; B.Sc in Administration Supervision. She is an associate member of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Holder of Nigerian Certificate in Education. She has worked in almost all the departments of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation and currently, she interfaces with all the departments of the corporation as her Focal Person.
She is well skilled in civil society capacity development having been trained by different international donor agencies on WASH programs. She is a humanitarian activist shown in her zeal for working with women and children in WASH where she has many years of experience. She is married with lovely kids.
Monique Williams holds an M.Sc in Management/ Criminal Justice and B.Sc in Psychology, Concentration/ International Business Management. She is a reliable professional with extensive management experience, seeking a challenging opportunity to demonstrate skills in decision-making, strategic planning and team work that can serve as a vital tool in achieving organizational goals and successes.
Barr. J. K. AnyanwuEbere attended the prestigious Government College Owerri from 1978-1983 where he bagged the West African School Certificate. He studied law at Imo State University Owerri and obtained L.LB (Honors) in 1999. He was admitted into the Nigerian Law School where he obtained the B.L Certificate and subsequently was called to the Nigerian Bar as Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in January, 2001. Currently he runs a Private Law Firm: Kemdirim AnyanwuEbere & Associates (Finbarr and Virginia Chambers) of No. 11 Whetheral Road, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. His major area of practice as a Lawyer is Litigation. He is the Senior Pastor of the Mountain of Hope and Restoration Church International, Owerri, Imo state - a Religious Organization duly registered in Nigeria.He is passionate about alleviating the plight of the poor and vulnerable.
Mrs. Monica Uroegbulam is a graduate of English Language. She has being working with Secondary Education Management Board (S.E.M.B) for over 21 years now and is presently a Duty Vice Principal (Administration). Monica has great passion in helping the poor and needy and this led her into volunteering. She is currently the President of St. Vincent De Paul, St. Mulumber Conference, a Faith Based Not for Profit, Non Governmental Organization based here in Imo state, Nigeria.
Dr. Sylvenus is a medical doctor by profession from the University of Calabar. He did his internship with the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Itiku, Ozalla, Enugu State and is currently doing his MSc in Anatomy with Abia State University, Uturu.
He is an Associate mem,ber of the West African College of Surgeon, National PostGraduate Medical College of Nigeria and presently doing his residency in surgery.
Dr. Sylvenus is the Principal Medical Officer with the Department of Health Services, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.
He is the Medical Director of Immaculate Heart Clinic and Maternity in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. His passion to assist the poor and vulnerable is innate.
